Private Engagements
Gerard has years of experience performing for corporate functions and private parties,
weddings and many other special occasions. When not leading his trio, he often works
as a soloist. The trio has been augmented by adding a jazz vocalist and/or a sax or
trumpet player or guitarist. "The goal is to perform music which enhances the event.
Over the years, I have worked with many great musicians. The two things I look for are a
complete knowledge of the repertoire and a desire to put the music before the individual.
These musicians love jazz music, and that is apparent in their playing."
The repertoire is chosen from America's greatest jazz composers - Duke Ellington, Cole
Porter, Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart, Johnny Mandel, Jerome Kern, among many others.
The music includes energetic swing tunes made famous by Louis Armstrong, Count Basie,
and Benny Goodman, beautiful ballads, as played by Miles Davis and Bill Evans, and
bossanovas and other latin styles associated with Antonio Carlos Jobim and Stan Getz.
